Thank you so much for supporting SEWCIALIZE, it means the world to me! When you support SEWCIALIZE you are supporting a developing business dedicated to building flexible employment for women who face barriers to employment, as well as building a supportive and creative community  for

Marie is a Vancouver Island based photographer and designer who creates hand-crafted bags, purses and clothing designed from her personal photography. She has always had a lust for taking captivating images of British Columbia's striking scenery. Marie has always loved to share her often moody photography with everyone around her. From the moment she began to play with cameras, it was evident that her images were meant to be shared with the world.

She is mom to two creative adults and aneyeball rolling  teen who loves to knit scarves for neighbourhood pets.  We may as well add that you can almost always find Marie with a pair of knitting needles or crochet hook, weaving together beautiful bead earrings and feather jewelry, or seeking out another new creative skill to master. Yes, this woman loves to challenge herself to learn something new each day.

Marie began teaching at-risk women to sew in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside upon leaving a four month stay at Union Gospel Mission's program for women 'The Sanctuary'. No stranger to hardship herself, Marie was inspired to share with other women the same therapeutic experience she received through sewing and creating during a time directed at her own healing.

SEWCIALIZE is committed to empowering women to move out of a high risk lifestyle, propelling them into a positive and healthy lifestyle and inspiring them to recognize their true potential through creativity, while also building a supportive community for women to create and share with one another their experience, strength and hope.

Combining her passion for photography, and her mad love for sewing, Marie focuses her lens throughout the West Coast of British Columbia, the pictures she takes are printed onto fabric which she constructs into bags by herself.

No matter what your mood is or who you are shopping for, you are sure to find a SEWCIALIZE product made from the perfect picture to suit you or your favourite Vancouverite. And if you need assistance in choosing the picture perfect gift, ask Marie, her knack for socializing and understanding human kind, makes her great at helping anyone seeking presents for even the hardest person on your list to shop for.

Each image Marie captures is a toast to you and hers wild (and I do mean wild!) West Coast adventures.
